Molly Duncan, LMFT
As a dedicated therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I am deeply committed to helping individuals achieve lasting change. My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered, ensuring that the unique needs and goals of each individual are prioritized. Using CBT, I address thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral challenges, helping clients to develop practical strategies for managing anxiety, depression, and a range of other mental health concerns.
In addition to CBT, I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my approach, a compassionate, evidence-based modality that explores the different “parts” within each person, such as the inner critic or vulnerable child. By helping clients connect with and heal these parts, I foster greater self-awareness and inner harmony, particularly for those dealing with complex trauma, unresolved emotional issues, and persistent inner conflicts.
Understanding that navigating therapy can be overwhelming, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment where clients can explore their inner worlds, gain clarity, and ultimately find their authentic voice. I build a strong therapeutic alliance through unconditional positive regard and a belief that viable solutions are always within reach, helping clients achieve greater personal balance, reduced suffering, and enhanced personal growth.
I am also passionate about supporting first responders, who face unique challenges such as exposure to traumatic events and the demands of maintaining emotional resilience under pressure. My specialized training in this area allows me to create a therapeutic space where first responders can safely explore their experiences, develop coping strategies, and maintain their mental health. Beyond my work with first responders, I am equally committed to helping young professionals, mothers seeking fulfillment, and anyone going through difficult life transitions, such as college or post-college life, divorce, new relationships, or unexpected job loss.
I received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to working in private practice, I worked in different agencies and worked with couples, families, and teens. In addition, I was able to donate hundreds of hours to a high school in the Morgan Hill School District.
In my free time you will find me practicing yoga, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling abroad. Whether it is the ocean or the mountains, nature gifts always ground me emotionally and mentally. I enjoy being creative by painting, journaling, and doing collage.
