Kim Picchi, LMFT
Have you ever noticed yourself ignoring emotions or convincing yourself that you should be able to “handle it”? The truth is, avoiding or suppressing these feelings only makes them more intense over time, often showing up in your body as tension, fatigue, or even physical illness.
I use a holistic, humanistic, person-centered approach to work with individuals and couples who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or trapped in patterns that are impacting their relationships, lives, careers, and overall sense of well-being. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, grief, or unresolved trauma, these struggles can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward.
Together, we’ll explore how to release emotional blocks, break free from unhelpful patterns, and create space for healing. With the right tools and support, you can learn to process your emotions in a way that brings you lasting relief and peace. You’ll feel more grounded, confident, and connected to your authentic self. My goal is to give you tools that not only enhance your mental health but also positively impact your relationships, reduce stress, and help you live a more fulfilling life.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University with a focus on Holistic Studies, which has deeply influenced my integrative approach to therapy. This holistic perspective emphasizes the mind, body, and spirit as an interconnected system, shaping my use of diverse therapeutic modalities such as mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Enneagram, and somatic bodywork.
Prior to working in private practice, I worked at the Bill Wilson Center in San Jose, CA. During my internship, I was invited to participate in the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) program. Additionally, I co-facilitated a weekly grief group for the loss of a partner or spouse. My experience also includes working with children in school settings and providing therapy to teens, individuals, couples, and families both in and outside the office.
In my free time, I love spending time in nature, whether by the water or in the mountains, as I find it deeply grounding and spiritually nourishing. I also enjoy pilates classes, long walks, attending music events, traveling, and cooking healthy meals with friends and family. As a lifelong learner, I am often taking workshops or reading about topics that interest me.
