Dominique Rodriguez, LMFT
When was the last time you experienced peace? Maybe even looked at the future in an optimistic light? Have you been content or satisfied at how your life is going? A lot of us have pondered these questions and most of the time, they can be difficult to process and even answer. Maybe some days, you feel on top of the world and other days, it’s hard to get out of bed. Or maybe you keep thinking about future unknowns, past mistakes or how you feel stuck in a current situation you have no idea how to get past. These thoughts may lead to feelings of worthlessness, fear, confusion and the like. You wonder if anyone understands you or if you just need to accept this is how life is and deal with it, though you wish it could be different. If this sounds like you, then you are definitely not alone.
My name is Dominique Rodriguez and I have helped many in their journey to contentment. I have provided a listening ear, objective viewpoints, laughter, tears and connection. This journey, of course, has its ebbs and flows and those ebbs and flows can create opportunities for increased mental strength, acceptance and hope. The mental strength to say “no”, the acceptance of yourself, others and extenuating circumstances and lastly, the hope that tomorrow could be delightful.
Coming from a diverse background myself, I truly love to interact with people from all walks of life. It is important to make sure each individual has an understanding that the therapy I will provide will be custom tailored to them. If you have the opportunity to work with me, my hope is to collaborate with you and cater to your unique needs. We can discuss interventions, therapeutic modalities and approaches that you believe could help you best. I strive to have a team mindset, because it takes two or more to develop a plan that can lead to the results one is looking for.
For my background, I received my B.A. in Theatre Arts from Sacramento State University. Following this, I made the shift towards doing therapy, receiving my M.S. in Counseling: Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. I have worked in schools, community clinics, residential treatment, in a crisis center and now at Wellspring Psychology. The modalities I like to utilize in my sessions are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Narrative, faith based counseling, ACT and creative arts therapies.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m looking forward to getting to know you more.
